The scope included treating all moving construction joints, grinding the original flooring system to ensure proper bonding, and achieving a high-gloss finish – all while maintaining the facility’s operational requirements and preserving the distinctive 15-foot-wide logo treatment that had become a hallmark of their hangar floor.

The Solution

Protective Coating Specialists deployed a nine-person installation team for this multi-phase, 10-day project that demonstrated both technical precision and operational expertise:

Technical Execution:

• Carefully ground the original flooring system to ensure proper adhesion for new coatings
• Applied flexible urethane sealant to all moving construction joints, “honoring the joint” by isolating areas with expansion and contraction based on historical movement patterns
• Applied three coats to achieve a high-sheen, light gray flooring system with smooth, durable finish

Aesthetic Upgrades:

• Upgraded walkways, maintenance bay, and storage areas with Decodur FX decorative coating system – a significant enhancement over the original solid gray walkways
• Preserved and restored the 15-foot-wide Green Bay Packaging logo treatment on the hangar floor
